Our Poults
Hardy, well-feathered game birds — grass reared to the highest standards.
At Wallingfen, we take pride in producing strong, healthy pheasant and partridge poults that are raised with care, precision and a commitment to welfare. By combining modern science with responsible rearing practices, we deliver robust birds that perform exceptionally well in the field.
Raised on Grass for Natural Strength.
Every Wallingfen poult is reared in a natural grass environment, with plenty of space, fresh air and sunlight. This ensures birds develop strong feathering, good muscle tone and the stamina required for release.
We work closely with trusted local vets and nutritionists to refine and improve our rearing protocols. By using natural, sustainable feed additives and minimising medication use, we produce healthier, more resilient birds while enhancing overall performance and welfare.
At Wallingfen, we’ve built our reputation on producing strong, healthy game birds that thrive in the field. Our poults are reared to the highest standards across our well-managed rearing sites in East Yorkshire, with welfare, biosecurity, and performance at the heart of everything we do.
We supply a range of pheasant and partridge poults to shoots of all sizes across the UK – from small, private estates to large commercial shoots. Whether you’re looking for a few hundred birds or a full lorry-load, we’ll deliver high-quality stock that meets your expectations.
Why Choose Wallingfen Poults?
Our hatching process begins with carefully selected eggs, trayed by breed and origin, and clearly labelled for full traceability. They’re first passed through an automated cleaning and disinfection system, followed by a fumigation cycle to eliminate any risk of disease from the shell.
We use the latest generation of incubation and hatching machines, ensuring optimal temperature, humidity, and ventilation at every stage. Our systems are monitored and alarmed 24/7, so conditions remain perfectly controlled day and night.
Only the Best
Using a fully automated candler and transfer machine, only fertile, viable eggs are moved through to hatching – reducing the risk of contamination and ensuring each chick has the best possible start.
Once hatched, chicks are quickly and gently graded, counted and placed into custom-designed chick boxes via our Breuil Chick Counter system. Every order includes an additional 2% as a goodwill measure, ensuring our clients always receive value and peace of mind.
We supply:
Red-legged partridge poults from 12 weeks
English partridge poults from 10 weeks
Pheasant poults from 7 weeks
Each order is reared to the same exacting standards that run throughout our operation — from breeding and hatching through to delivery.
